Korean PRT Projects

Korea’s Korea Railroad Research Institute (http://www.krri.re.kr/english/) has an approximately $30M PRT Next Generation Urban Transit System Development Program that started in July and will run for 5 years. The effort is funded by the Korean Government with discussion of bringing a private investor in.

Vectus Ltd , a subsidiary of Korean steel corporation Posco, will in autumn build a PRT test track for Sportaxi in Uppsala, Sweden, according to Uppsala municipal authorities. The track will be built on University housing land by Dag Hammarskjold Way, to study and monitor how the system handles winter. We shall follow how it is going.
